Duskblades in the Realms

Wow, this is really nice. In fact, it's what I've been arguing with some people on the WotC boards about for a while now, about how to integrate Duskblades into the Realms, elite arcane knights from the Crown Wars, sort of divergent more offensive minded Bladesingers in heavy armor, primarily associated with Sun Elves (who are more inclined to wear heavy armor, and the Duskblade pretty much screams out to wear Mithral Full Plate, a Sun Elven specialty.) I'm really happy they've gone that route! I know that a couple other people here at ENWorld had the same idea about it as me; let's al share a smile at Eytan Bernstein and had the good sense to agree with us about it :)

WotC has been developing a very good track record with their online articles recently. The Mind's Eye article tying together psionics and ki, the latest "dead levels" article, and now this... I have to say that I am very impressed, and very happy, with what they're putting out.

Yes.. it sounds remarkably similar to what I had posted in a thread asking that very question on the WotC boards (more aggressive offshoot of the Bladesingers done by the Vyshaan).

Most recently, I used Duskblades as soldiers of Shade (instead of fighter/sorcerers, as recommended by Lords of Darkness). It worked really well, and the class fits thematically.

Makes sense - it gets them into the Realms (even for elves) and leaves bladesingers in, too.

I also used duskblades as Shade soldiers in my last campaign.

Tell me about that discussion on the boards. How many moderators had to be called in?
