Dust Bowl Galaxy released! It is an indie space western tabletop rpg where you are an alien crew aboard a junker you built yourself out of spare parts

It is a rules-light low-prep game where you build your starship out of spare parts, crew it with custom made aliens, and go explore the galaxy one randomly (or not so randomly) generated sector at a time. When you blow something up, you weld the leftovers onto your ship, call them upgrades and keep on truckin’.

Please enjoy. The PDF version of the book also comes with print-to-play version of the cards.

The PDF full-size preview covers 50 pages, which is more than half of the book. All the rules for character creation, making custom aliens, custom ships, custom gadgets, combat, epic space battles and apocalyptic psionic powers are all there.
The rest of the book covers galactic exploration rules, salvage and crafting, character advancement and lore. It's rules light, coming in at 94 pages including character sheets.

The inspirations for this game were FTL, Firefly, Guardians of the Galaxy and the Expanse series. Despite crazy psionics, the spirit of the game is grounded in hard sci-fi (sling-shot maneuvers, high-g burns), although math related to rocket science is kept deliberately simple.

If you'll be visiting GenCon this year, I'll try and run a few sessions of this game there in the Games on Demand section.
