DVD region-free prog

Is there any internal data that WinXP keeps about what regions your drives are, and how many times you can change them?

Assuming I know what I'm talking about, then yes.

On the "My Computer" icon, right-click your CD/DVD drive, and choose "Properties".

Choose the listing in the Properties box for your DVD player, and then click on the Hardware tab. Then, click the "Properties" button below. That will bring up another window. Click on the "DVD Region" in the window, and it will tell you what region your DVD player is configured for, and how many changes you have left.

From one kitten to another: Hope that helps.

after trying a bunch of these out, i found that Remote Selector (on the videohelp site) is definately the best. It's tiny (around 250k) and works in the background. I was able to play movies from regions 1, 2, and 3 without doing anything but turning the prog on. It can be set to start up when you turn on your comp, and ignored as it does its job. It's much better than risking firmware flashing.
