In the new module, one of the items that can be obtained, is +1 Dwarven Armor, but it got me thinking....which below is true?

1) Is this armor for dwarves only?

2) Is this armor for anyone, and the name is just a derivitive of its origin, that was MADE by dwarves, and this is where the special ability comes from which emulates dwarven healing?

I think its 2, but I am not 100% sure.

I'd say that unless it specifically says that it's for dwarves only (which it doesn't), then it's just armor of dwarven design. Also bear in mind that, since dwarves are medium creatures, most other PCs would be able to wear any armor that a dwarf could wear (the assumption here, I guess, is that most armor in a fantasy world with people of widely varying size is adjustable to some degree).

on the same topic, anyone know how the PCs "KNOW" it is a +1 set of armour?

Well...

Excerpts: You and Your Magic Items

Identifying Magic Items

Most of the time, you can determine the properties and powers of a magic item during a short rest. In the course of handling the item for a few minutes, you discover what the item is and what it does. You can identify one magic item per short rest.

Some magic items might be a bit harder to identify, such as cursed or nonstandard items, or powerful magical artifacts. Your DM might ask for an Arcana check to determine their properties, or you might even need to go on a special quest to find a ritual to identify or to unlock the powers of a unique item.

there is also option 3 - dwarven might be a word used in the same manner as plate or scale. That would mean that there are no plate dwarven armors but simply dwarven armors, and each grants, for example +9 AC and is made of some special dwarven steel.

There is also option 4 - dwarven armor is a name of magical property.
