Dwarves don't go prone easy? Even if unconscious?

Does a dwarf get a saving throw against going prone if she is rendered unconscious? This could be relevant if she is made conscious again during a battle, as then she would not have to bother standing up again.

No--the wording of the ability is "when an attack would knock you prone." Falling prone because you're rendered unconscious is a result of a condition inflicted on you by dropping below 0 hp, not a result of the attack itself.

What happened to common sense? Of course the dwarf falls prone if he is unconscious.

Stand your ground applies against attack that knocks you prone, not attacks that knocks you unconscious. Otherwise you would argue that a dwarf could save against going prone if gets killed!

An dead/unconscious dwarf still standing? I don't care what the rules say, I'll let any PC make a check just for the badass factor.

I dunno, I kind of like the image of the party coming across the upright corpse of a dwarf. Is it undead? Or just some dwarf that died long ago in combat? :)

Double post, but I will use it to add a comment:

In fact, I saw a Xena episode once where four characters didn't trust each other and so faced each other off all night, and it turned out one of them fell asleep while standing up and the others didn't notice!

Now that's something I could get behind.

"Is he petrified?"

"No, just hardcore."

"when an attack would knock you prone"

The attack killed him, so getting knocked prone was an effect of the attack. Save away!

Yes, I'm just trying to be funny. No need to reply to this to point out that I'm wrong.

Attack > Prone = they get a save...

Attack > Unconcious > Prone = you do not get a save...
