E online, thou dost torment us! - RotK "news"

We've all heard otherwise, but E online! claims the Scouring of the Shire will be in the extended edition of tRotK:

Among the restored scenes: The scouring of the Shire,

For years, we've heard Peter Jackson say that he didn't even film the Scouring, so we know it won't be in there.

Will it? :(

Over at the coming soon boards, there is a person that has posted info on LotR films about a month before it has been made public. He has always been right. He has already seen the EE of RotK and said no scorging. There is another scene with the confentation with Saruman, but its not in the Shire. E! has some of the info wrong.

Jeez I hope PJ doesn't do this. He had perfectly valid reasons that he himself stated for not doing it. If he put it in now it would invalidate everything he said. Besides, does anyone think what that film needs is more ending :D?

Here's why I don't believe it: Up until now, most of the added footage has served to round out the existing story, not add entirely new story elements or big fight scenes*, all of which would have to be done if you added the Scouring in. So far it's been strictly "cutting room floor" kind of stuff. Also, it seems to me that you couldn't just drop the Scouring in the way you could drop in, oh, let's say the Eowyn and Faramir in the healing house scene. I think you would have to reshoot a lot of the ending scenes involving the hobbits to accomodate this new plot element. And I don't see that happening. Those were scenes PJ and the cast seemed to care a lot about, and unless he just wants them not to make sense with a Scouring crammed in there willy-nilly, I don't think he'd want to reshoot them.

*Yeah, I know they're adding in Gandalf vs. the Witch King and Aragorn vs. the MoS, but those are part of larger battles happening already, not entirely new scenes. And we already knew those scenes had been filmed.

Jedi the White is the persons name. He is some kind of hollywood insider. He won't say who he is due to protection. But he has always posted info before it has been made public, and he has always been right.

I'm not sure which would be worse;

Adding the pointless Scouring of the Shire scene, or leaving in the 8 endings complete with Hobbit Love sequence.
