[e-tools]

Steven McRownt

First Post
I've just put my hands on e-tools, downloaded from the net some (unofficial) adds-on, and made a couple of character sheets. But neither the help or my luck helped me to find a way to customize or add new classes / prestige classes.

I found a way (but i didn't tested by myself) to add spells, feats, equipment, races and monsters, but i do not find a way to add something else.

It will be in the coming-soon patch by fluid?
Someone has already found a way to modify/add classes?

Thanx for the help in advance,

Steven McRownt

ps Yep, it's me. I'm back after a long long time...Why? I have to moderate an italian forum on NWN (and i don't like the game!) and I give some help to a couple of new italian site on D&D 3e, but i missed those forums... I can't stand of not share some thoughts with you, guys...

Thanx Chaz,

I have another problem with E-tools by now (nor that i solved the previous one anyway).

Is it just my version that can't make the math, or even you are having problems with the numbers of skill points that the program gives?

Examples:

Halfling Cleric 3' level (INT 12) E-tools' skill points 12 (they should be 18)

I've made some other sheets, and the results is always that E-tools give much less Skpoints... or after a couple of years i still haven't learned to calculate s.p.?

Steven ~ I've seen several message posts about this problem on other boards and depending on what you are doing it may not be a problem with eTools exactly.

Depending on how you select the ability points for your character is the issue. If you have the system roll up some random scores and then bump those up by using the *user* fields then you will run into the problem you are having. I don't remember the nitty-gritty details of why this is but it is a core rule from the PHB about ability adjustments (something to do with adjustments beyond that of your starting scores do not grant extra skill points with the Int ability score).

But here is what you might try/need to do in order to enter an existing character or ability stats that you roll up manually:
On the same screen that you have your ability stats at (the *Roll* screen), go to the *method* drop down box, and select the last one (*user entry*). It will give all of your ability scores a base of 8, which you can adjust up or down by the *add* button at the very right (not the *user* ones!!). This should hopefully calculate the Int score skill points correctly for you.

I've tried what Agentrock suggested me to do, and i tried it twice -because if he posted twice i thought there were some kind of reasons:D - but unfortunately it doesn't work. For the 3° level halfling cleric with 12 of INT e-tools keeps me saying that he'll have just 12 skill points.

I can just hope in a patch now!

ps Agentrock thanks anyway for the try...

I just did it as described (using the User Entry method and only adjusting the scores in the FAR RIGHT "Add" column and NOT the "User" column with a completely unpatched version of eTools and it worked perfectly.

Are you absolutely certain you're doing it that way? If you adjust the "User" column it won't work correctly.

IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanx everybody....

Steven McRownt

ps I'm going to kill all my party now, so i can use E-tools to make a new bunch of sheets!!!!!!!!!!!:D
