I've never read the books, but it looks interesting.

Thematically there are some changes.. especially considering they took two books and blended them to give it a male and female lead.. Earthsea was all about Sparrowhawk(Ged). I'm frustrated the changed the order of the true name.. his actual truename is Ged but they switch it for Sparrowhawk. I guess it sounds cooler to the Harry Potter crowd they are trying to grab with this adaption.

(By the way.. yes I have seen it but I won't spoil it for the rest of you. Fans need to at least watch the first night.)

If I ever get a chance to see it, I'll watch it. I just won't expect it to be like the books.

I think the comparison to LotR and Frodo and the Ring seems a bit over done - but I'll watch all the same.
