D&D 4E Easy way to see updated 4E blogs on Gleemax?

Wisdom Penalty

First Post
Help.

I can't navigate Gleemax to save my life. Is there a single page or easy way to see which 4E staff blogs have been updated recently? Or do I have to click on each of them individually?

Thanks,
W.P.

I've checked for blogs MUCH less since they moved to this format.

If they can group all the bloggers into one group and make it clear where the new blogs are on a single page, that would be best for me.

I've given up on reading the blogs on Gleemax - It's far too much work. Shame that, because they were fairly interesting little tidbits.

I agree. They have implied that when the RSS feeds are working it will be better, but I doubt it.

Many of the bloggers had said they would be glad when they finally went to the Gleemax blog format because it was much better. I think they were delusional (from a reader's standpoint). The only advantage is that reader can now comment on a blog post. Note that almost no one is taking advantage of that.

I will also note that certain creators were updating regularly. At this point updates are a rarity for everyone (except maybe the MtG guys, which I don't read). I have a bookmark page that lists the blogs I'm interested in, but stopped checking them regularly because there are almost never any updates (and "relevant" updates are rarer).

Something that drives me crazy is that if I have a link to a blog entry, there's apparently no way to jump straight to the blogger's profile, to find previous entries. I should be able to get there by clicking the blogger's name, but that only works when I'm already on the profile page (?!). Also, I differentially can and cannot scroll with my mouse wheel depending on which part of the page my pointer is on. Not to mention that the layout is so confusing and unintuitive that I usually have to click a couple of things before I can determine which link I should use to get somewhere. Part of this has to do with the fact that the blogs are compressed into the bottom of the profile page, instead of the profile page being a link off the blog, as is the standard for blogs...they're blog-post-centric, which makes sense.

They made sure that there were plenty of kewl WotC-brand icons, google ads (so I'm told. I use AdBlock Plus), and but they didn't work on basic functionality?

Count me as another voice calling for the developer blogs to get un-migrated until the gleemax site is at least as functional as the messageboards were.

I have the same problem. I really hope that the next development stages will allow a more flexible access to blogs.
Like aligning blogs within blog groups (one of them the WotC group), so you can always see the newest blogs (or blog links) one one page, without having to navigate to the bloggers personal page.

Technically it's feasible, but I have no idea if that's something the guys are actually planning. :/

There are other advantages, like easier time adding pictures, at least I gather that from a few blogs. But that's not exactly common yet.

The blog format is a good idea for this stuff, but Gleemax isn't well-suited for it yet. They absolutely need RSS feeds, and easier way to track various users.

Me too. Without some central place to tell me when each blog has been updated, it's pointless. I'm not gonna check two dozen blogs every day just to see if one of them was updated.
