D&D 4E Ebberon Elves in 4E

While this may cause a little bit of retconning, I tend to agree the Eladrin are the Elves on Aerenal, while the "elves" are Valenar.

Might be a little bit of fudging, but thematically it works IMHO.

Yeah, eladrin are going to get shoe-horned in. It's just a question of where.

The deathless' connection is with Irian (? the positive energy plane), not Mabar - the shadow/undead-lovers were killed off or chased off the island (House Vol & their followers). Which is part of why Eladrin aren't such a good fit for the "prime" elven cultures, as the Eladrin are explicitly tied to the fey realm (Thelannis in Eberron) and the Eberron elves have other connections.

Eladrin as not-so-common visitors from Thelannis would work, of course. Kinda like the Dragonborn suddenly showing up from wherever they're supposed to be living in the world (Argonessen?).

In fact, as I think about it more I rather like the idea of Aerenal elves as Eladrin with a connection to the shadowfell rather than the feywild (with all their undead fetishistic stuff)
I think the same - I believe the Elarin could be retconned in as Aereni as living for millenia within the manifest zone of Irian WILL do something to you. And the zone is still small enough to explain why not all Aereni are eladrin now. Only the long-term Shae Mordai-dwellers are.

Cheers, LT.
