This was my perspective as well, except that I stayed neutral until I started seeing good first impressions here on the boards. This particular post was the one that made me suspect that I was almost certainly going to want the book (thanks, Kravell!).
Since I tracked down a copy today, paged through it with excitement, and then bought it with real pleasure, I figured I'd track down this thread and share that with you.
With most gaming books, I skip around a lot -- jumping from section to section as my interest takes me. With Eberron, I did this for a little while, then realized there was so much I wanted to know about that I needed to start at the beginning. Thus far, it's excellent.
I just got two copies in for work and glanced at the first few pages, I did like what I saw but didn't absorb any information. I'll have to take a detailed look at it later and if I've got the spare money (that is if my girlfriend allows me to buy it [we're kinda watching the money for the future]) I might get it but there are other things higher on my "might buy" list and as I right now my "must buy" only has the MMIII on it but that's several months away.
