One of my little projects for when I get bored is sketching out Not Quite So Hideously evil versions of the Dark Six for use by PCs. I decided that's what my minotaur cleric worshipped, and while that hasn't really come up much as we're in what's effectively Maztica, we are having to reeducate the natives, who keep insisting that Dol Arrah wants hearts*.
I mean, hell, if there can be CE clerics of the Silver Flame**, I should be able to be a LG paladin of the Mockery. It's all about the spin, really, though a lot of the spin's, ahem, hard.
* - Sun god and all that.
** - Of course, after Faiths of Eberron, it was more apparent they were getting their spells from the Shadow in the Flame.

It's a preview from the Player's Guide. We'll see what the Campaign Guide has to say about this religion whose true motives are sinister and secret from the average worshiper.

That's not true. We won't be playing the Eberron campaign for a couple of months at least.
