Eberron help adventure idea.

Crothian

First Post
I'm guest DMing tonight and I'm not sure what to do. IT is an Eberron game. They just finished the little adventure arc (Shadows of the Last War, Vampire Blade, and the Emerald Claw thing). They are back in Sharn and the next adventure the regular DM is going to run is Steel Shadows from Dungeon Magazine.

I'm just looking for something that might build off of the adventure arc or something. I was just asked to do this 5 minutes ago so really haven't had the time to think on it.

Well the ending of GotEC involves a very surprising entity. Since it wasn't incorporated into the Warforged design, what was used in its place? And is there any sense of connection with that entity?

Alternatively they've already met a Chamber watcher. Perhaps there's something else that the Chamber wants them to do (or not to do - or both!).

Failing that, Sharn is home to mystery and violence. A quick assault in which they become embroiled might lead them back to a criminal gang and plenty of fallout!

What ever you do - good luck!

I'd recommend pulling the focus away from the warforged and House Cannith, since both feature pretty prominiently in Grasp of the Emerald Claw and Steel Shadows.

If you're looking for something quick and easy, Fallen Angel (Dungeon #117) is written for a 3rd/4th level party, but you might be able to bump it up to their current level (although given their access to spells/magic items at this point, it might not scale as well). Murder in Oakbridge (Dungeon #129) is written for a 5th level party, but might take too long, especially if they spend a lot of time chasing down red herrings. If they have easy access to scrying magics at this point, that might either cut the adventure time down significantly or make the adventure last all of 5 minutes. :)

If it's the one that I'm thinking about (features an upside-down tower fallen into the lower levels of Sharn), Fallen Angel needs real work to make it scale properly. I played in this in a 3-man party of 6th-level characters and we cruised right through it, even with the scaling advice given in the adventure. The main sequence at the end in the upside-down tower is linear in structure, meaning that the PCs can proceed through it largely at their own pace. The final battle is also heavily telegraphed, which allowed us to buff ourselves out the wazoo and then wade in, laying the smack down with impunity. If you use this, I'd do some serious scaling and also change the structure to allow the bad guys to tackle the PCs on their own terms.

Mightier than the Sword is indeed from issue #29, but it's set for 1st to 4th-level characters, so also needs work to make it viable for a higher level group.
