Plane Sailing
Astral Admin - Mwahahaha!
I haven't seen any other threads on the latest update http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/eb/20040413a (please feel free to direct me to one if it is going somewhere!)
Kalashtar and the Dreaming Dark. I really like what I'm seeing here. It is an interesting first to see a race with a racial benefit that scales with level (Kalashtar pp bonus), but more than that it is very interesting to see a race (and an enemy race) which is so tightly tied into the planar nature of the campaign setting. I love the idea of having major baddies from the dream plane, and it gives a nice setting specific link to psionics.
The Dreaming Dark are a splendid organisation - from the excellent principle of using Mind Seed to create nice loyal servants (brilliant use for a creepy power) to the fact that they've been building up all kind of legitimate connections, to the fact that the different rates of time on the two planes enable them to pick up reports from their dreaming spies, decide what to do and then disseminate the information to their other spies worldwide.
Someone may come and say "oh, that's old hat" but I can honestly say that I've never come across a secret spy organisation as nicely integrated, with modus operandii, cool backstory etc.
OK, so I'm gushing. But what do others think of this?
Cheers
