Eberron Weretouched Master (Bear)

Just wondering if anyone has played with the PrC Weretouched Master in the Ebberon CS. Specifically, I'm curious about the Alternate Form ability. It seems to say that you can gain +16 Str, +2 Dex, and +8 Con [Bear] or +12 Str, +4 Dex, +6 Con [Tiger]. The problem is while it says this ability is different from shifting, it doesn't say how often it can be used, how long it takes to activate, how many times it can be used per day, or why anyone would ever pick Rat [+6 Dex, +2 Con].

Anyone shed any light on the situation? Have you seen this PrC in action? Is it as ridiculous as it reads (again, specifically the 'Alternate Form' ability)?

Tak on this list was our age of worms were-touched master. It is as powerful as it seems.

This ability has been errata'd, and as you might imagine, weakened significantly. Download the Eberron Campaign Setting Errata off WOTC's site.

Yah, seriously nerfed, which is fine considering how badly it skewed things. I think the biggest bonus is +4 now.
