[The Baron]

Tykri fires of an arrow before the rest of the party seems to have even noticed the creatures emerge. The arrow travels through the darkness, hitting the unsuspecting creature in the shoulder.

Tykri: 18(roll)+6(mod)-4(rain)=20(hit!) damage: 1(roll)+2(sneak attack)=3

Another arrow shoots in from the darkness to the north. It finds its mark in Jannis's neck, pushing itself straight through to the other side. Jannis staggers, but manages to stay standing. He tries to scream but lets out a blood-soaked whimper instead.

The creatures leap from their hiding spots and rush towards the road.

OOC: end of surprise round - initiative order: Tykri, Kennith, Kort, archer (unseen), Dormon, Jeth'bar, creatures, Gedward - please post your first full round actions. Also, Kort, please post your character sheet in the Rogues Gallery. Updated map below - north is to the top, by the way)

Tykri backs up 5' and fires another arrow at the creature she fired at.

"Stay close! Do not give them gaps to flank us! Protect Jannis!" the shifter shouts.

Following the direction of Tykri's arrow, Dormon notches an arrow and fires it at the same creature. "Jannis, get cover!" and steps closer to Jannis.

OOC: That's a 5' step to K13. If B1 goes down, I'll shoot B2 instead. When's Jannis' initiative? If he goes before me, it might change my action.

ooc: knew I forgot someone. Jannis goes last (he got a 2)

 

[Wyrmslayer]

Kennith finally seeing shadowy creatures emerging through the rain are startled. Enraged by sudden disturbance of his train of thought, he unleashed a small bolt of magical power towards the shadowy figure that Tykri, his companion just hit. Then, he cowardly tried to take cover using Gyder, whimpering.

(ooc: Move action to get wand from belt, standard action to cast magic missile from wand, attempt to take cover from horse as no action)
(ooc: Since I am not a druid or ranger, I can't control animals so Baron, can you please decide what Ripper going to do?(Hopefully not to bite Kennith in the ass)

Tykri fires off another arrow as she steps back. This one lodges into the creature's other shoulder, but he continues to move forward, though his confidence appears to be waning.

Tykri: 18+6(mod)-4(rain)=20(hit!) damage: 3

Kennith pulls out a wand from his belt, twists his body and launches a bolt of purple energy at the already injured creature. It hits him square in the middle of the chest. He falls to one knee and lets out a yell before staggering back to his feet - barely.

Kennith: magic missle: 4 damage

Kennith's guard dog slips through the tall grass and lunges at the nearest creature's leg, but he sidesteps the attack.

Rip: 6+2(mod)=8(miss)

Dormon and Tykri: Your low-light vision allows you to see the creatures more clearly. They appear to be shifters dressed in fur-covered armor, wielding daggers in each hand.

ooc: waiting for Kort.

 

[Krug]

"Won't these creatures die?" she shouts, as she sees the shifter continue to resist the damage inflicted on him. She also scans the forest for the person who shot the arrow.

Kort fires an arrow at the nearest foe, drops his bow and draws his sword to close for melee if they are near enough.

Kort launches of an arrow at a creature coming from the south as it approaches the lantern light, but the arrow flies into the tall grass next to the creature's feet.

Kort: 2+6(mod)-4(rain)=4(miss)

The barbarian drops his bow and takes off towards his target, hoping that the sword he draws from over his back will be more effective than the bow.

Another arrow hits Jannis in the chest with a thunk. He collapses to the ground, blood slowly collecting in pools around his body. Jannis's lantern falls nearby, the flame fluttering in the wind, but it remains lit.

Dormon fire off an arrow at the nearly dead creature, but it sinks through the weight of the rain, falling short of its target.

Dormon: 9+4(mod)-4(rain)=9(miss)

ooc: waiting for Jeth'bar. Kort, I had you attack B5 - he was the closest creature you could see. hope that's ok.

Jeth'bar curses under his breath and fires at the creature to the south. He steps back a few feet, trying to get in front of Jannis.

(OOC- Fire two arrows at B5, at a -2 of course, and takes a 5' step west.)
