eBook Prices - Is it just me…

Amazon has been systematically making kindle worse to lock people into their device and prevent people from archiving their purchases.

They are trying to eliminate competition and then they will control pricing.

I refuse to buy from them since they eliminated download and transfer.
Same. I bought at least a thousand ebooks on Kindle, but I stopped the day they removed the option to download a copy on a PC.

You can get e-books through your local library. My daughter does all her reading on an e-reader and doesn't pay for them, she just 'borrows' them from the library. The down side is the time-limit to read it and the wait-list. Sometimes years for some books.

If you have the mailing list already, then yes. I ship directly from the printer every time with the remainder going to the warehouse.
This is not a typical service provided by a printer. Printing and fulfilment are two entirely different things.

Why would there be a waiting list for a digital book? Can't you just provide access to another copy?

I discovered that last year, and was laughed at over my confusion about it on here. I ended up doing an inter library loan on the book.

I just looked at a series and the ebook prices range from 6.99 USD to 8.99 USD, I mostly read books on kindle via the kindle unlimited.
