ECL for proposed creature template.

True, but the wolf has significantly fewer hit points. Remember, the wolf transformation is based on Polymorph Self, and a Polymorphed "subject retains its ... hit points (despite any change in its Constitution score)". So "wolfie" doesn't get bonus hit points for the extra Con from the transformation - tho' you're right, the rage is extended by a couple rounds.

Oops! for the hp I stand corrected, but I think you should change the as polymorph self (and I didn't see it first, sorry:(), because in the spell there is also: "Upon changing, the subject regains lost hit points as if having rested for a day (though this healing does not restore temporary ability damage and provide other benefits of resting for a day; and changing back does not heal the creature further)."

and wolfie can transform into a wolf at will, while the transformation into human does not provides benefits, wolfie as something like a 10 rounds casting time heal at will with that.

Ok, thats a weak loophole: ECL +1 :p

PS: I have edited the previous posts a bit

Ach - I missed that healing bit. Nixed. ;)

(And I'm not just being difficult here - debating like this is the only way I can tell if you've actually thought out your recommendation. Don't take it personally - you'd be amazed how many people will fire off evaluations without putting a moment's consideration into it.)
