Ecology of the Genasi

I liked the article but did anyone else notice that besides using the name "genasi" the article had little to do with the Realms? At least insofar as the history part, which mentioned Bael Turath and the dragonborn empire - neither of which exist in the history of the Realms.

So while this gave a nice insight into the psychology and culture of genasi, the lore aspect was more or less useless Realms-wise since it was basically for introducing genasi to the "points of light" setting.

I can see why this might bug an FR player, but as a generalist, I wouldn't have it any other way! Remember that in 4E, all official material, even that published in setting-specific sources, is intended to be easily poachable for any setting.

I couldn't be happier at the PoL focus of this article.

Considering the FRPG will probably have information about Realms Genasi in it and the fact that the FRCG details Akanul extensively I liked having some PoL history of the Genasi. The physiology, origin myths, culture and information about manifestations are appropriate regardless of setting.

Is it just me or could you use the feats in that article to become quite a powerful machine... Depending on whether or not you can take Extra Manifestation multiple times (waiting on the FRPG to see the fine print on that one).

But a Firesoul/ Stormsoul Genasi Swordmage (Wizard MC) with Fast Manifestation, Primordial Surge, Firepulse Mastery, Genasi Fire Affinity, Elemental Assault, focused around fire/ thunder powers is looking to be quite synergistic.

Some Canadian posters on the WotC board got their FRPG's early. I do believe that they said that a genasi could take Extra Manifestation multiple times (I believe you could take all five).
