I thought the demon summoning ritual in Demonomicon was great.

Summon the demon, then skill challenge to play out the power of the mage over the demon.

I think Summon Demon is pretty cool, but I would have liked another one that actually brought a demon into the world (or wherever the ritual caster is). That's why I like this one.
 

My thought when I started reading it:

"Wait, so that batman villain is canon in D&D now?!"

Seriously... is there any tradition in D&D for scarecrows to be "fear vampires" like these ones, or did the author just straight rip off a comic villain?

When I saw this on the content calendar I scoffed. Really? Scarecrow? Seemed too silly for my games, but after reading the article the writer did an excellent job with it.
