Eden and Oriflam Set Sail with Archipelagos

Eden Studios, Inc. and Oriflam are excited to announce an agreement to translate and distribute a different kind of d20 system product. For two years, Oriflam has been delighting French-speaking gamers with a series of campaign adventures set among the islands of the Archipelagos. Now, for the first time, these unique d20 system books will be available in English language translations.

Eden Studios will offer translations of the first three books in the Archipelagos story in early Spring 2003.

First off, let me state that I'm glad we're seeing the conversion from countries go both ways. It's always interesting to see how things are done elsewhere. I still miss Australian Realms and Imagine.

However, I'd like to add that I'd rather see the bullwhips broken out and see Fields of Blood and the Book of Taverns in the stores. Not to sound like an ass (oops, too late, I already opened my mouth), but if the delays continue on these products, will the market still need them?

Malhavok Press has announced their own book on War written by a veteran in the industry. Necromancer has a book of Taverns coming out soon.

Ideas are a currency of sorts in D20, one whose value is deflated the more often its used.

Get 'em out and get 'em out soon.

Our Tavern book is in layout out right now.

The Book of War has hit a snag as Matt Colville has left the project due to presonal reasons and we are currenlty assigning his work to freelancers to get the project done.

We still plan to publish these books.

As for Archipelagos, we have been working on these for months now and announced them since we are heading into the final production stages on these books. They will ship on time in January and February of 2003.

We have many more d20 products planned, but do not want to announce them until the manuscripts are in, edited and developed and they have begun layout. We made many mistakes in the past announcing books before they were written (ie Taverns and Book of War) and will not make this mistake again.

I see the wisdom in that. The Eden books out there so far are gems and I'm looking forward to seeing more of them.

I just worry that some of them may not be as needed as they once were which can cut into the whole point of making the product. When they were first announced they were way ahead of their time in terms of conept but others have already started to fill that gap.

Glad to see that Eden will be putting more d20 material out there. Now all we need is Buffy d20... yeah, that's the ticket... Zombie World d20 anyone?;)

I'm with Joe. Not that I don't understand, George, that you guys have ALOT of issues, both personal and professional, you have to deal with. I just hope you guys continue to grow and develop as I REALLY enjoy/enjoyed my copy of Liber Beastarius. It's wonderful book and a great addition to my collection.

George,

Do you guys plan on coming out with either of these two Archipelago products:

Notebooks of Voyages
Follow Hual Bouffeur d.Ecume in its voyages through twenty islands of the Archipelagoes. Learn the truth on the Caesura, Arkonautes and the gods of unintermitting l.ancian. The Archipelagoes become a true world. 184 pages.

Archipelagoes: L Screen
Change d.ambiance! With this screen, your players will n.auront never again desire d.aller s.enterrer in unhealthy undergrounds. The booklet contains description d.une floating inn, four monsters and a class of prestige: the Jainite knight.

Sorry Babelfish butchered the French-English translation a bit...

Later and thanks!
