I hate "The Dark Eye" with all my body including my pee-pee ( ), but I still enjoyed a few sessions of it.

I'm in the same boat. I'm trying to think of a game that I've out and out hated and never had any fun with and I'm drawing a blank. Now, there are some games that I won't play again, like, say, anything by Paladium, but, then again, a while ago, I got invited into an PbP game of TMNT and it was a blast.

So, yeah, I guess I'm just easy to please.

I know, dude, I know. Looking back on the whole event, I think my players were just unwilling to try anything new; not just 4th Edition. They had their reasons, I guess...they didn't want to buy new books, they didn't want to learn a new game, they didn't want to re-invent their characters, that sort of thing. They would have had the same reaction to any other game system...G.U.R.P.S. or Castles & Crusades, or even 2nd Edition AD&D.

But whatever. Our old game still plays great, and we already have the books and know the rules. Why mess with a good thing?

OD&D(1974) is the only true game. All the other editions are just poor imitations of the real thing.

I can think of two. One shall not be named here.

The other is Shadow Run. We spent entirely too much time making characters, one combat took the entire night, and it eventually, mercifully ended with a TPK. I'm not saying Shadow Run is a bad game, but it definitely isn't my style.
