On the D&D site, in a video answer about converting 3.5 to 4E, it was said that they'll be updating Anauroch adventure, yet it isn't listed in Scott Rouse's update list. Does anyone know if:

a) They'll update the book at all, and
b) If they'll update the actual adventure, or merely the fluff about the Anauroch?

I'm going to be amazed if Dragons of Eberron is converted to 4e in any recognizable and consistent fashion.

Dragons, magic, encounter levels etc will all change.

Its would be tons of work to update all that for nothing.

Just like the fluff of many races is changed in Eberron versus core D&D, I'm betting that dragons will remain as they are. They will have to, for the sake of the entire history of the world, be the origins of magic, the greatest mages, and able to covertly shift the course of nations. They won't be just big bags of hit-points in Eberron. No way.

Not sure why anything listed there would prevent them from being big bags of hit points with breath weapons, flight, and the ability to rip people apart. If they are able to learn rituals or take levels in wizard a lot of them will....but nothing in the Eberron fluff really requires that they be able to cast spells(which sounds like the only thing dragons are really losing).

I guess it depends on your definition of being able to cast spells...considering their place is as the pinnacle of magic, the teachers of magic, and the holders of the great secrets of magic it'd be a bit of a stretch for me to say that they aren't actual spellcasters. Just having a few rituals won't do it.

My point, however, is that I think they will remain as spellcasters in Eberron4e. They will get a boost to their combat abilities with the new crunch, but their flavor will remain the same.

And I do think, even in Eberron, that you can some dragons just be big bags of hit points. I've thrown a rogue dragon at my party and totally freaked them out. I'm looking forward to the new edition's dragons just for that reason. Nevertheless, the vast majority of dragons in Eberron should still be the recluse sages, mages, and polymorphed Chamber agents that you see in Eberron3.5e.

Will it?

Updating Dragons will take a fraction of the effort of producing a new book. Remember they've got people doing the Draconomicon already; you could just task a few people, steeped in Dragonstuff already, to spend a few hours for a few weeks banging out conversions and what have you.

Dragons gets some sort of bump in sales now, and if the conversion is detailed another bump later (4e people who want more info, Eberron people who want 4e Eberron stuff, any stuff).

Obviously they won't get everything in any case and it's possible the conversion will be vaporware (so to speak) or so slim or so erroneous as to not work out.
But if it's substantial you could a second wave of sales.

The updates for the 3.5 products I mentioned will be web only. e-books will start with the first of the 4e books
E-books that is good news, I'm all for it. But, will these book be available to people that don't have a DDI account or bought these books before? I mean will we be able to buy them as standalone e-books.
