Elektra trailer

Well, it doesn't look any worse than Daredevil.

Of course, Daredevil sucked.

I just don't find Garner convincing as Elektra. But then I like Frank Miller's Elektra -- crazy and crazy and crazy. I would LOVE to make a movie of Elektra: Assassin. But Garner is neither crazy enough nor Greek enough for the Elektra that slaughters gleefully in my head.

i gotta agree with john, that daredevil wasnt bad, and this trailer wasnt bad either. although neither is particularly faithful to the comics. i can let it slide more with these two characters because theyre not as iconic or whatever.
it looks like it might actually be ok.

but i also gotta agree with mhac... jennifer garner is very far away from being a hot chick. as a matter of fact, i have NO IDEA why she has become a sex symbol. HER FOREHEAD IS HUGE. and although I know some guys who might like bigger eyes or hips or chest or rear... i dont know any guy who says
"i like me a girl with a biiig forehead"

she also has something manly going on around her upper lip area...i just watched Catch Me If You Can where she has a bit part as some skank who tries to sleep with the main character for money, and she just didnt look attractive at all.

You are officially crazy. Garner not hot? Unthinkable.

Unfortunately, the movie looks like it will suck. I wouldn't see this movie except for the trailer for Serenity :)

Umm...

Uhh...

What were they thinking?!?!

So far as I'm concerned, they lost their way the instant they decided to include elements of the supernatural in the movie.

Yes, Marvel comics continuity has more magic in it than a great wyrm's treasure hoard. But this isn't a comic book; it's a movie that's supposed to be in the same continuity as Daredevil. And Daredevil, like most superhero movies, doesn't take place in the Marvel Universe. It takes place in the real world with a few unusual people. It would have felt absolutely wrong to have magic in Daredevil (or the Punisher, or even X-Men), and it feels wrong here.

If Elektra hadn't appeared in the DD movie, it might be different. But as things stand, this is not a workable idea, IMO.

I have no problem with the mystical elements shown in the trailer. Seems to fit the martial arts/eastern theme. It is comic-booky but that is fine for a movie based off a comic book.

I may be biased because I love Garner as an actress and enjoyed Daredevil. ;)

I do too, on both counts. That's why I have a problem with this. The movie suggested by the trailer does not jive with, or fit into the same world as, the Daredevil movie. It would be like suddenly throwing Dr. Strange into the next Spider-man movie. They may share a world in the comics, but the mix of magic into the Spidey movies would just feel 100% wrong, IMO.
