Elemental Archon Prestige Class

Zogg

First Post
So I rolled some fat numbers for a backup character for a campaign I'm in and I was thinking about running a cleric of Kossuth that would eventually become and elemental archon. I checked out Faith and Pantheons (haven't bought it yet) and it looks like a great prestige class. Then, I found this website that compiles prestige classes:

http://www.crystalkeep.com/d20/rules/DnD3Index-PrestigeClasses.pdf

and saw that it says "min level Clr 13". I don't remember seeing that in the F&P. Why does a cleric have to wait until 13th level to take this prestige class? I thought maybe it was because there is a Knowledge (nature): 8 prerequisite but that could easily be obtained by 5th level if a PC takes the "Education" feat at 1st level (makes all knowledge skills class skills). Soooo....would a cleric really have to wait until 14th level to take this class (when a druid can get it at 5th!) or can he take it sooner. I really don't want to run a druid. Thanks

It's the knowledge (nature) 8 ranks... there are feats to get around that (cosmopolitan from the FRCS), or domain selection (although maybe not the domains for Kossulth)

edit: interestingly enough, if you could have a druid of kossulth, you'd be able to do it no problems.

Yea, I know a druid could do it. But I'd prefer to run a cleric for several reasons. I just emailed my DM my question and it's up to her. I'm crossing my fingers.

I think I remember talking to Erik Mona about the class at some point (he wrote it) and that skill requirement. I think we both felt that (like the heirophant prestige class) that should be "X ranks Knowledge (nature) or Knowledge (religion)" so that clerics and druids have equal access to those deity-based prestige classes.
