Elemental touched template?

Is there any template for an elemental touched creature floating around in a D&D book, d20 book, or somebody's home creation?

I've got a PC in my game who shifted forms with a druidic water artefact and gained the water elemental template from the book of templates (pdf book by Silverthorne games). The water one turns your type into an elemental and gives you all the elemental traits such as type and subtype, no crits or stunning, a slam attack, and the drench power. It does not give any smiting, breath weapons, or spell like abilities as others I have seen do.

We assigned it an LA of +2 and he's hoping to eventually lose the template as time goes on and sort of trade in elemental traits and powers as he goes for reduced LA at times where he can appropriately advance a class level and keep his xp from being screwed up.

So does anybody know of a +1 LA template that would be appropriate as an interim stage back to normalcy for the character?

Ok, I'm guessing you have the first BoT, as the elemental template in Book of Templates Deluxe is more powerful (+3 LA). I don't know of a +1 LA template, but I'd suggest making the following changes as an interim stage:

*Lose Elemental type
*Lose Vortex ability
*Lose Drench ability
*Lose slam attack
*Lose restrictions on raising, resurrection, etc.
*Immunities to poison, sleep, paralysis, stunning become a +4 to saves vs these effects
*Immunity to acid becomes a +4 to saves vs acid
*Keep darkvision
*Keep immunity to critcal hits
*Keep +2 bonus to Fortitude saves

BTW, if you're planning to have the change be gradual, you might split up these changes and apply a few at each level until the template has been bought off completely. Be sure to change the character's appearance appropriately at the same time.

Hope this helps!

Apply all the racial traits of a Water Genasi. They're normally LA +1 all by themselves, but they're an underpowered +1, in my opinion.

Been thinking about changing all of the Planetouched into templates, with the special rule that Planetouched Humans lose their Human racial traits.

Some options:
1. Base something on the genasi race. They're sort of like aasimar and tieflings, only elementally based instead of alignment-based.
2. Use the half-elemental template. It was originally in Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil, but I think it can also be found in MM2 and/or Manual of the Planes. It's roughly equal to the half-celestial/half-fiend templates.
3. Use the elemental template from Manual of the Planes. It basically turns you into an elemental with some abilities based on the element in question. It's a bit more powerful than the celestial and fiendish templates.
