Elephants and Horses climbing ladders?

Some things take a simple application of logic by the DM, rather than having to struggle with rules. If a player chose an elephant as a 'companion' then he's done it for some specific reasons, and should realize that there are times and places where the creature simply won't be able to be involved inthe action. They aren't particularly adept at jumping or climbing. They have trouble fitting down Alice's rabbit hole. It's just the nature of the beast.
 

So this came up last night in a Pathfinder Society game. An elephant trying to climb down a ladder.
