Elephant's Hide overpowered?

only becasue it specifically lists it is an exception. Most times I will not bother to list excpetions to rules if they don't apply to the question. THere are other exceptions to the rule but all will be labeled as such.

It did in 3.0, but in 3.5 barkskin instead provides a natural armour enhancement bonus, which is similair, but different to a natural armour bonus. Thus it stacks without being an exception.

Correct, as do the amulets of natural armor now. They provide an enhancement bonus to natural armor and so stack with a character's natural armor. Of course, that being the case, a barkskin spell and an amulet of nat. armor wouldn't stack since they are both enhancement bonuses.

+7 natural armour bonus for 10 minutes at the cost of 1 wild shape use. Does this not seem overpowered?

Personally I think it is underpowered, considering what else I can turn into for one hour per level with that same wildshape.
