The name issue is intentional.

I've never read or played Elfs, but I have Sorcerer and Trollbabe (by the same author). In general, Ron knows his stuff and if he says the rules support a given style of play, they will. :)

Sorcerer is pretty kickass, I need to get the support books for that at Gen Con. But Elfs is a nice funny game and I was hoping on a site of thirty thousand gamers, I was not the only person who had it..... :heh:

I didn't say it wasn't intentional - it's just anybody who says that Elfs uses "Elfs" because it's the preferred pre-Tolkien spelling is smoking crack, because (A) they didn't use it for that reason and (B) it's not the preferred pre-Tolkien spelling. They use "Elfs" for the same reason Orcz uses "Orcz."

Well, how about we actually state why the game uses that spellsing instead oif this blind guess work?

"A note of Spelling and Plurals

The modern plural for an elf type person is elves. You know this, and the disctionary knows this, and the game authors know this. However....the characters in this role playing game do not. THey call themselves Elfs and rudely insist that anything else is stupid; in fact, they also think that anyone else is stupid. "Hey Stupid!" they say when ever they see you or me on the streets.

There's no argueing with them, so the game is called Elfs. What can you do?"

So, nothing to do with Tolkien, nothing to do with Orcz. Unless Orcz using that spelling because the elfs do.

*thanks dialgo for another stunning insight*

*is also glad for once he got Crothy to do an anime face.* Well sort! ;)

In any case I still say it should be elves, not elfs. :p

I like that. Sounds like fun :). What are you going to do when you play those elfs?

Kill things, take their stuff. Get better stuff, take the good stuff from the other elfs you adventure with, "accidently" force the other elfs into bad siutaiotns that by chance let you get away from a bad situation......
