Had a friend who many moons ago was playing the old basic D&D with us. He got to a decent level, and started pondering what good all those +1 swords we had collected along the way were good for. The DM was attempting a more realistic economy, were magic items were not bought and sold at the local store, so they just accumalated, (it never occured to him to adjust the adventure). So he got the biggest bow he could find, and had a quiver of +1 swords. He got a real kick out of the picture of Regdar holding a bow and a bastard sword together.

This was also the same guy who, being unable to hit anything with his weapons, started using two shields and a treasure chest. Criticaled everything in sight...

It's better than the even more absurd image I had in my head...I feared for a moment it was going to be an archery-equivalent to the S&F feat 'Throw Anything'. I had horrifying visions of archers loading greatswords into their bow...
