ELH in the SRD?

After that we will likely take a poll of d20 publishers and ask them what they want to go into the SRD next.

I'll bet that the "winner" will be one of the Manual of the Planes, Oriental Adventures, or the Book of Vile Darkness.

Any plans to actually revise the ELH before sticking it anywhere?

I wont mince words, it needs a lot of help before its actually playable/easy to run as the only epic thing about it is the amount of house rules we currently prop it up with to stop the leaks.

Still, the addition of manual of the planes and deitys can only be good, they where great products.

I would definitely bet that manual of the planes goes in next. It seems like the most likely choice, being older and much more broad than OA or BoVD

The MotP is a logical choice after Deities & Demigods and the ELH, who both make heavy use of planes.

My reason for including OA is it would allow to clarify what is and isn't OGC from AEG's Rokugan d20 line. Plus, we have had several "oriental" products even outside of AEG's already (Jade Dragons & Hungry Ghosts, Quintessential Samurai for example), and Green Ronin will eventually publish Dragonfist.

As for the Book of Vile Darkness, there were a couple threads a few weeks ago about possible more third-party support for it.

Yes, the ELH and Deities will go into the SRD. We don't schedule that happening we just look at the amount of work and make our best guess. Currently it still looks like both will go into the SRD sometime around the July release. Likely the ELH will be first. With a bit of luck it might even come out before 3.5.
First off: Woohooo! I've been thinking of a couple of ideas that need ELH and Deities to work. This is great news.

As for what comes next, I'd really like to see MotP made part of the SRD. Planes are a central part of a lot of D&D settings, and it'd be really handy to not need to reinvent the wheel if you need rules for them.

AV
And by "d20 publishers" do you mean the selective group of well-established companies or does that also includes aspiring game writers as well as those in the e-book publishing press (a little less known than such folks as Malhavoc Press, Bastion Press, and the Game Mechanics)?

Here's my non-scientific poll: I want VP/WP health system added to the SRD.

As a "fan publisher" (whatever that means), I'll second MotP and W&V, for reasons already stated for MotP (although I've already got the "nod of approval" to reference MotP monsters and terminology, and official release would be nice) and the low-magic friendliness of W&V.

I agree that ELH needs work (as Thresher indicates), but with the basic premises released, it will allow other designers to take a crack at it (including my own High Level/Epic Status rules; And I'd like to see Chaosium take another go at Dragonlords of Melnibon'e with ELH material available, that setting really deserves it).

I'd LOOOVE to see the book of Vile Darkness go in, as well as the MoTP. ELH I don't have, don't use, don't like. Would the d20 license permit an alternative for those of use who would like something to progress above 20th without the over the top nature of ELH?

Well, yes and no.

In theory, yes: There's nothing stopping anyone right now from writing rules directly related to play after 20th level so long as nothing is dependant on the ELH material.

One major no: Technically, the Experience Point table for post 20th-Level is off-limits due to its placement within ELH, even though it is a natural extention of pre-21st Level (current level x 1000 to gain next level). I'd imagine that it's too thin a line for many to consider messing with at this point in time. This limitation, be it real or perceived, will naturally go away after SRD release, however.

Note, however, that this can be ignored by not using the d20STL and just publishing as an OGL product with an Experience Point table.
