Elminster's Origin?

Does anyone know where in Faerun Elminster is originally from(born/raised)? I am assuming this is detailed in the books about him, which I have not yet read.

Elminster was born in the Athalantar, the ancient Kingdom of the Stag. (This is actually mentioned in the very brief entry on Athalantar contained within the "Lost Empires" sidebar, FRCS, pg. 266.) This kingdom fell several centuries ago, but was located in the Western Heartlands, south of the High Forest. If memory serves it did in fact border the High Forest, as the magelords, who usurped the Stag Throne, made war upon the elves there; on the other hand, they also conquered a few regions beyond Athalantar proper during their reign, so it's possible that the kingdom did not have such a border itself.

Thank you! That is exactly what I needed to know. (I'd like to make a character who speaks in a similar dialect.) And I've been trying to get a hold of the Elminster books for quite some time.. they aren't stocked very often in the local bookstore
