When did the "C" drop from CRPGs and when did "TT"RPG spring up?

I don't think anything changed, and CRPG and TTRPG were always in use. If you say RPG without the qualifier, it depends on context and your audience. CRPGs started being called just RPGs because the people talking about them mostly ONLY played CRPGs, so there was no other kind of RPG that mattered to them much.
I'll disagree with the "always" on TTRPG, it wasn't even a thing for over a decade vs always. And I still petition that the original hobby shouldn't have a nomenclature in honor of being the original.

e.g. One doesn't call a wrench a Manual 1/2in wrench to differentiate it from a ratchet wrench, a hex wrench, an adjustable wrench, or a power tools.

That's not an insult. Final Fantasy is a different genre. JRPGs existed with and stayed distinct from CRPGs for decades and did not impact the transition from CRPG to.ARPG and "just RPG."
Entirely irrelevant. When we were at a restaurant after a Con and the waitress asked us what we did and responded to that with "Like Final Fantasy" - that's when the shift happened.

I've heard TTRPG for decades. As long as I've heard CRPG. They were both created to differentiate from each other. But as more and more the idea of "gamer" was someone who played computer or console games, the context of TTRPG became less important, so they started just using RPG, because the context of it being a video game was assumed and obvious.

I only seen the "TTRPG" in the last decade at most, when Stranger Things and CR made D&D bigger. For the many forums and websites (which were RPG focused, not video game focused) I was on, I never saw TTRPG until then.

Again, it's sort of weird at a nomenclature level. It's like all the sport car websites decided to call pick ups "boxy sport cars" and then expect pick up owners to call their pick ups, "boxy sport cars."

Well, I saw it in rpg.net and even the predecessor sites to this one way back in the late 90s and early 00s. But not a lot. Most of the time, the context is such that you don't need to distinguish TTRPGs from CRPGs, so you can just say RPGs and everyone knows which one you're talking about from context. I think CRPG as a term was used a lot on TTRPG focused contexts, and I imagine vice-versa. It's not weird at all, because of the context, I don't think.

I did a search and as far back as EN World goes, people were using TTRPG specifically to differentiate it from CRPGs and more importantly MMORPGs. There is a bunch of discussion using the term with regards to 4E, before and after it launched.

A JRPG is still a computer RPG if played on a computer. the J is just a subset of a computer RPG, in my estimation.
