Elric and Hawkmoon RPG from Mongoose? Is it good?

Does anyone know if the Hawkmoon and Elric use the exact ruleset? And are the game worlds tied together in anyway?

The rules are a customised version of the Mongoose RuneQuest ruleset and are compatible with the parent system and each other. From what I remember the game worlds aren't mechanically (from a rules perspective) tied together but Magic of the Young Kingdoms does mention other worlds in the multiverse like the version of Granbretan that Elric encounters in White Wolf's Son.

SLAINE!?! They have Slaine?!? *whimper*

Mongoose have published a version of Slaine using the D&D 3E ruleset (which I have and is very good) and a new version using Mongoose RuneQuest (which from reviews sounds OK but with inferior production quality to the original 3E version).

Sorry to hear about the lower production values. :(

But yeah, the original is overall pretty good. Terribly unbalanced, but that doesn't necessarily matter, for some groups. I got mine 2nd hand, and it's in poor shape, but remarkably intact, unlike several others I've seen, and heard of, which were bought brand new, and are falling apart, or have already at some stage.

So, maybe watch out for the binding, as per Conan 2nd edition (or, at least, the first lot of Conan 2e - apparently, the more recent ones are bound better, or should be.)

I may be wrong (as they always seem to have some big, new license on the horizon) but I think it was Traveller.
No, they still say that their holy grail license hasn't been announced yet (and specifically said it wasn't Traveller when asked - although I don't have any references to give you for that )

Cheers,
Jason

Hey! Erekose is a member here! That is awesome! How come you don't have your own game? I loved your books. Sorry about Ermizhad and all that. It really sucks.

Oh,
Thanks for the info. too. :)
