Elven spellmantle

Has anyone seen the 2e spell Mantle? It's kind of like superpowered SR.

I saw several versions of it in 2e, including weird 1st-level ones that cost hp and only protected against 1 spell per level.

Does anyone have the original 2e version of it? Or can someone help me convert it?

Right now, I'm thinking a 7th-level spell, most statistics as spell turning, letting you absorb 17 spell levels without being injured. Only spells that are subject to SR apply. However, this may be too powerful... Spell Turning doesn't protect against Fireball, while my version of the Spellmantle does.

Thanks in advance...

well, in the Forgotten Realms there are;

Alustriel's Improved Mantle, 7th level spell, negates all 4th level or lower spell (including area effect spells), plus a few other benefits (FOR 6 - Seven Sisters)

Ilyykur's Mantle, 4th level spell, +1 saves, +3 vs enchantment, half damage from lightning (FOR 8 - Pages from the Mages)

in (FOR 13) Secrets of the Magister, there is 4 or 5 pages describing mantle spells. the first, Mantle, is 6th level, does eat hit points, gives various bonuses, plus one spell from the caster has maximum effect and negates one spell the caster has cast (if the caster uses magic missile, he can choose that the mantle negates imagic missile being cast at him)

Mantle can be upgraded by caster level (13 - 25) to boost (maximize) more spells, and negate more spells (and it eats more hit points)

various bonuses from the original (not upgraded) spell include:
protection from normal missiles
feather fall
+1 save vs spells
additional +1 save vs enchantment and illusion spells
plus - gives the caster additional saves every round (until successful) against enchantment and illusion

that's just a rundown, i could put up more info if you want it

There is a spellmantle spell in MOF. It works like spell immunity but allows you to use the energy of the target spell if it is cast on you to heal yourself, or power one of your memorized buffing spells. It lasts for 1d4 +1 per 4 caster levels spellls.

It's a 6th level cleric spell
