I am very sorry to say this because I really want to be there but I have had a last minute work schedule change and will not be able to attend GenCon this year.
Which also means I can't take the volunteer slot I wanted.
I am very sorry for the short notice. Let me know you read this.
Now off to cancel my hotel reservations.

I've made sure to mention at every job I apply for that I have outstanding obligations to attend a pair of trade fairs this summer.

Which actually sounds good when applying for a marketing job, I've been told.

Hasn't helped me GET the jobs, mind you.

But this way, they can't make me miss Origins and GenCon.
