As a young child, she would from time to time, accompany her father on his caravan as it traveled through Enheim. She usually approached these trips as a vacation from her schooling and chores. However on one trip to a dwarven province she saw something that changed her life forever.</p><p></p><p>As the caravan slowly traveled through the dwarven settlement, deep within a mountain, she saw the writing on the wall. Dwarven stonecutters had inscribed onto the wall the history of the dwarven people. The text seemed to go on and on as far as she could see. As they passed by, her father read some of the writings to her. She looked on in wonder and awe, even though she could not read the strange writings, the thought of what those words said spellbound her. At that moment she knew that she wanted to be one of the recorders of history, to preserve the bold actions of today to inspire the deeds of tomorrow.</p><p></p><p>The first coin that she earned she spent on paper, quill, and ink. She used it to record the events that she found important in her life and those she thought might be important to others. This marked the beginning of her career as a historian. She held herself to the historian’s credence “I have not slept a wink as the history of the world unveiled itself to me”. It is a figure of speech meaning that she always watching for events that will shape the world around her.</p><p></p><p>Additional Information</p><p>Jalryn is now 24 years old with green eyes and brown hair. She wears modest, yet finely made clothing. She is mildly attractive and she tries to use her charm to her advantage when trying to solicit information from people. Since her return she has proclaimed herself “The Official Historian of Mor’s End”. She is currently working on her second volume “The Official History of Mor’s End Volume II”. Sometimes she is guilty of making the events that she chronicles “more interesting” for the reader by adding her own spin to them. From time to time this of course totally distorts the actual facts of the event.</p><p></p><p>She thirsts for new and interesting bits of history to add to her writings. She is especially interested in Dwarven history as it was what first gave her initial spark. She mingles in the inns of Mor’s End, particularly with some of the more elderly residents and local adventurers trying to find interesting bits of information for her current volume. When people turn her down and she believes that they have some good information she does not hesitate to use her read lips or listen skill to borrow the information that she needs. She justifies this as history belongs to everyone, not just a few people. It should be written for all to read and know. She hopes someday with the help of investors and the local government to erect a great monument. A wall of pure white marble in which the greatest of all the deeds in Mor’s End to be inscribed upon it, just as the dwarven settlement that she saw long ago. </p><p></p><p>PC Hooks:</p><p> Some rough adventurers came into Mor’s End fresh from the field. Thinking that they might have some good stories she eavesdropped on them and overheard some things that she should not have and now her life is in danger from them. She asks the PCs to protect her. </p><p></p><p> The PCs were a target of her “more interesting” history is her current edition. The PCs have been made to look somewhat foolish and now they must convince her to write a retraction or suffer a tarnish reputation in Mor’s End.</p></blockquote><p></p>
