Hmmm...I think starwolf has a good idea here. We might as well use the names suggested for something, it does kinda make sense, that several of the local names sound similar.

I agree, very good idea, Starwolf! Might I suggest Port Jollita is the part of the harbor reserved for small halfling/gnome ships? It would probably have several little halfling-run taverns, where small patrons dance on the tables and quaff their ale...

Here's another vote in favor of Starwolf's Compromise. (Which BTW would make for a great name for some seminal event in the founding history of the city! )

PS: I would let any EN Worlder submit names for minor roads, ditches, establishments, etc. (just so we can populate this city on short order...) But I would reserve the names for major roads, rivers, districts, universities etc. for names that are nominated by 3rd parties. So Jolly Giant could have a "Jollita's Pub" in the halfling quarter of the harbor. Or he could get "Port Jollita" if we all agree that he has played an important role in the design of the city (or on EN World in general).

I call dibs on "Conaill's Cocktails" (or "Conaill's C*** & Tails", depending on what our mighty ruler lets me get away with...) Conaill is a retired adventuring Fighter (his greatsword hangs on the wall behind the bar). During his many travels he has had the opportunity to sample a wide variety of peculiar local drinks,- often to great risk to his own health . He started to experiment with mixing them in order to preserve the "kick" of the original but make them somewhat safer for human consumption. Although his bar is located in a somewhat better part of town, Conaill's adventuring friends often come by to rile up the place, and Conaill himself has been known to dip a little too deeply into his own merchandise on occasion...

Location: in one of the better districts, but as far away as possible from the temple district, and if possible closer to the more "adventuring" parts of town and/or the dwarven quarter.

Although it sounds okay in theory, I don't much care for the entropy names myself. Kind of clever in a way, but also a bit cliche. I agree it works better as a nickname. If it does get picked, perhaps as a more recent name since I would think it weird that a town would set itself up to entropic.

But whatever, I am sure it will turn out great!
