EN World Columnist & Podcast Editor Darryl In Hospital

We all wish him a speedy recovery!

Some of you may have noticed that Darryl's weekly news digests and freebies/sales columns have been absent for the last three weeks.

We wanted to wait until we had his direct consent to share this news, but Darryl Mott, columnist and podcast editor, was suddenly checked into hospital a couple of weeks ago for serious health issues. He has undergone more than one surgery, and has been able to confirm to us that although he is still in hospital, he is doing better; however he currently does not have a discharge plan.

Everybody here at EN World and EN Publishing wishes him a speedy recovery. His health is the priority, and I have told Darryl not to worry about columns and podcasts, and that we'll all still be here when he feels ready.

The podcasts are still going out--they're unedited, so it's your chance to see what we sound like before Darryl polishes us up!--and Darryl will return to his columns whenever he feels ready. In the meantime, I"m sure he would appreciate your well-wishes!

Thanks for all the well-wishes everyone! I didn't really feel comfortable going into much detail publicly just yet about what happened, but it was very serious and it's down to luck and a good medical team I'm still here.

If anyone wants to get in contact with me directly, the only social media I'm currently using often in any public way is on Bluesky. Follow me there for complaining about the hospital food and at cable TV options.

I hope you feel better and are able to go home soon. I was in the hospital a couple of times this year and you're never so happy as when you get to go home.

Quick update: I'm being discharged from the hospital today (Monday). Still going to take some time for adjustment as I still have to do dialysis three times a week, only it's outpatient now. Also brand new diet with a lot of food restrictions and the issues of slowly getting the equipment I need to be functional at home. Still not sure when I'll be back writing for EN World, but hopefully it's soon because Morrus and the rest of the EN World team has been absolutely amazing to me during this time.
