Enchanting Unarmed Attacks

Is there any way to "enchant" an unarmed attack and keep computability with monk unarmed attack bonuses and damage increases? I've thought about this for a while and I've come up with a couple ideas, gloves, knuckledusters, brass knuckles, or other objects is one such idea. First of all, would that work, and second, is there any other way, third would being able to do so be unbalancing? After all, monks can do quite a bit of damage without any bonuses.

Multiclass with the druid variant from UA that gives monk abilities, discuss with your DM whether this should stack with the monk levels, get a housemade feat like all these new multiclass feats and cast Magic Fang on yourself.

Honestly: Get this amulet pyrex quoted.

It's not RAW, but this is from the Monk entry in SRD, under Unarmed Strike:

"A monk’s unarmed strike is treated both as a manufactured weapon and a natural weapon for the purpose of spells and effects that enhance or improve either manufactured weapons or natural weapons."

I allowed a high level player to enchant his fists with an ability he really wanted. Your DM may vary.

I've allowed it to. Sometimes with the addition of a roleplaing element where a monk, or other unarmed fighter, had to go through a ritual to have the ability added and resulted in a a tattoo or other mark to indicate it had worked a certain way. Amulets, rings, and oils are other options.

IIRC, the 3.0 FRCS had wristbands that you could enchant with weapon properties that would pass the enhancements on to unarmed strikes. You had to enhance them as a double weapon.

There was also a special amulet in Savage Species that let you enhance a natural weapon. It may have been the same as the Amulet of Might Fists, though.

The Mongoose 3.0 monk book had Finger Razors, which are essencially little knives you put on your fingers that could be enchanted. They acted as ammunition, though, so you had to put on new ones all the time.

I'm a fan of allowing "unarmed strike" to be enchanted. There's no good reason not to, and the Amulet of Mighty Fists is outrageously priced for what it does. 3x the price of enchanting a greatsword?!? Please.

Stormborn's idea about having a tattoo show up with the enchantment is wicked cool by the way. Yoink!

The idea I was playing with was having magic belts or even robes that enhance unarmed strikes. Fits with the wardrobe.

I would allow the Amulet of Mighty Fists, or a Kensai enhancing his unarmed strikes, but that is about it.

I mean after all, if a Monk wants special weapon abilities, they have a whole slew of Monk weapons they can even flurry with. Of course exchaning special effects for damage. But balanced in that way as the weapon can be sundered or disarmed, something a monk's fists can never be under RAW

Enchanting their unarmed attacks easily is like having your cake and eating it too.

get magic fang permanencied and pray it is never dispelled.
Good advice. A permanent GMW +5 is only about 9k gp, and can't be dispelled by a regular dispel magic (the DC is too high).

Greater Dispel Magic could dispel it, but a ring of counterspells can protect against a targeted GDM, while multiple magic mouths (at CL 21) should protect against area GDM's.
