Barsoomcore - I was having the same problem you mentioned with the index cards at first too. This is why I only have very basic info on the card and the rest on the abve mentioned excel spread sheet.
Also as mentioned already, if some one delays I just pull their card and hand it them, having them give it back when they are ready to step in.
