That's how I've allways run things, at least with people within the group moving through each other's squares.

Yes this is how I do it as well.

a 5' square is big enough for you to pick what side of the occupent you pass on and so get the 1/2 cover and no AoO.

You can always pass though a friendly (as most of the time they will let you pass) even in melee.

When Tumbling though enemy spacees and you dont feel you will make the 15 or 25 DC its best to take the DC 25 Tumble for 2 reasons.

1) When passing though a enemy you may get cover and so some foes may not get AoO.
2) each AoO against you will have a 50% of hitting your enemy as with the rappling rules.


I know this is not stated spasificly but it is a easy extraplation.
