ENnies 2002

You're probably sick of hearing about it, but I just wanted to let you all know that you have about a month before we're going to ask you to select the winners for this year's ENnies. We're getting a ton of stuff from publishers (I had two huge boxes on my porch today when I got home and that was just from one publisher). Compared to last year I'd say we easily have 5 times the number of submissions. And we've yet to see some of the big players send in their stuff!

It's been great getting to see all of the products and the judges are definitely going to have their hands full in just narrowing down many of the categories to the five items we need to nominate in each. I'm sure I speak for the other judges when I say that we can't wait to present the nominees and see what you folks vote for. The fact that the awards have joined forces with GenCon and that there will be a live ceremony there is just thrilling for me. And of course I'll be able to give Morrus a big hug! :D What could be better?

Is there anything in particular you want us to keep our eyes open for? Any cover art that strikes you as great, any maps you think are wonderful, any accessory you can't live without? In particular we could use more submissions of fan websites with high-quality content. Also let us know which companies' websites are really doing the job well. All comments appreciated!

Thunderhead Games has a good website. I know they don't havea lot of material out yet, but the vault section has a lot of extras for people to use with their priducts, especially Bluffside.

I am a little biased because I'm working on the Bluffside Netbook, but even before I was part of that I enjoyed their Vault section.:D

As an addendum to Eric's post, if any of you feel that something is worthy of entry, please encourage the publisher/creator to enter. They can't win if they don't enter.

Has there been any information posted on the date/time the awards ceremony will be held? Or have I just overlooked it? I want to be able to attend, if I can. Thanks!

Hey - none of that American too-much-body-contact crap around me, thanks very much! A firm handshake is more than adequate! :)

Seriously, though - it's really cool the way the big players are getting involved this year. With companies like AEG and WotC in the running, it's going to be a pretty fierce competition. The Best d20 Game category is the one that particularly interests me - we have Spycraft, d20 Cthulhu, Star Wars (Revised) etc. - all pretty strong contenders.

We do need some more fan site entries, though! :)

Looks like it'll be the Friday night at Gen Con, although I'll confirm exact time and place as soon as I know!

i still say the d20 conan site is the best website for d20 based on a book. someone should do one for lankhmar!

hmm....

Thanks Crothian, we have entered this year and we also nominated the "new look" on our site:D. I also have been keeping up with most of the d20 products this year and holy cow, there is some great stuff out there! Good luck to all that entered.

Huh. We'll have to reschedule the leg-humping for a different night, then. Man, Morrus, you're a logistical nightmare.
