Again I'm gonna ask for someone who knows Macromedia Flash to help with the flash section of the show. I can prepare the artwork - but my workload elsewhere on EN World being what it is I could use the help.

Why is that?

In a nutshell, because I come to this site for all things d20 (and, to a lesser extent, OGL), not for other game systems which are incompatible with the D&D ruleset. Hence, a product from another system that wins an ENnie is not going to be relevant to me (even if it is a fantastic product in its own right).

Also, I feel that there are other awards out there (such as origins) which cover the wider range already. I'd like the ENnies to be uniquely d20/OGL.

Didn't we beat this horse enough last year? Origins is a "gaming" award. It has an RPG category, but it covers all games. There is no RPG award except the ENnies, which is a special niche in it's own right.

There are also the Pen and Paper awards which cover RPGs.

Origin Awards has like three categories for RPGs so the ENnies really covers it a lot more thoroughly. And the ENies will highlight the best of d20 as well as the best of other systems. Ya, all the winners won't help you out, but some of them will.

But doesn't it make it even more difficult for the judges? You guys already have to read through huge amounts of d20/OGL stuff. I would think that adding non-d20/OGL products would be overwhelming! (Although for those who can accomplish it, my hat is off to you - I have a hard enough time getting through a 96-page supplement.)

This is what happened last year. We got Exalted stuff which I think most of us were familar with. We got Saveage Worlds, but that wasn't that hard to learn and was a good read. We got A State, Vampire, CoC, Cartoon Action Hour, Kult, Hackmaster, Hero, and many others that some new and some didn't. But It's no harder then when we get a d20 setting we don't know. Two years ago we got some Dragonstar books and I didn't know anything about that setting, so I went out and got the main book so I could read that as well.

I don't think it makes much difference as d20 is so big that it is near impossible to keep up with all of it. The first year I did this was mostly d20 stuff, the second year lots of both. There wasn't a big difference for me on how hard it was to judge between the two years. Neither was what I would call easy, it is a bit of hard work and at times is not fun.

It actually just got worse this year. There are now only two RPG categories in the Origins Awards, Best RPG and Best RPG Sourcebook. The Sourcebook category was already ludicrously huge and now it has had all the adventures dumped into it as well.

I think that we should try to get some new blood on the judging panel this year. I really appreciate the work of the previous judges, but i think that the awards would benefit from at least a partially new perspective, you know? If judges become institutionalised then the awards will start reflecting their biases, even though a lot of us implicitly trust Crotian and T-Billy's opinions anyway. Just a thought.
