Enter Into The Frozen Castle With Kobold Publishing

From the makers of the Tyranny of Dragons campaign for D&D fifth edition, comes a new adventure that expands the campaign. I was given an early look at the cover for Frozen Castle from Kobold Press.

Debuting soon via the DM Guild program from Wizards of the Coast (I am told that it should hit the OneBookShelf sites tonight), Frozen Castle is a short adventure that I am told will be fun for "barbarians and rangers in particular, as well as chatty, silver-tongued characters." I was also told that "Frozen Castle includes a new map of Miklos Glacier in the Forgotten Realms. There's two bits of new art (one of them featured on the cover), a new exotic liquor, spirit mead, and a LOT of giants."

Will we be seeing expansions of other campaigns through the DM Guild? I guess time will tell.

Now heres hoping they release the scenario with Galvan the Blue and that should wrap up the plot points that were not featured.
An encounter with the black dragon(s) in the Mere of Dead Men was also referred to in HotDQ but never made it into RoT. And it would be nice to have a mission featuring a red dragon as well.

Anyone know if there will be a print version?

This is something I was wondering about :).

Lightning Source (the printer) charges a $1.5 handling for for prints on demand. Shipping also starts at $3.8. And then there's the print cost. It quickly adds up to 10ish dollars.

Would you pay $ 10 for a 8 to 16 page softcover booklet?

I hope this does well. This adventure is the test to see if "official" campaign add-ons will take off on DMs Guild.

EDIT: Interesting to note how much this adventure's cover looks like the cover of a Pathfinder AP!
so ominous, what happens if it does not do well, what would that mean?!?

edit. I just checked DM's Guild and its now listed in 'Most Popular' so it must be doing well after being posted just 24 hours ago.

I might, just for the sake of having the whole thing in print. But I recognize that I might be unusual in that; POD would probably be their best option if they did want to offer some kind of print version.

It also occurs to me that if they were to also offer encounters with Galvan the Blue and the black and/or red dragons, those could add up to enough of a page count to justify a print version.

It's surpassed Matt Mercer's blood hunter class on the hottest items list! Those classes are really the ones to beat!

DMs Guild's "hottest" algorithm makes its staying power hard to judge, because it's based on some ratio of purchases:time, but this is still incredibly exciting!
