mojo1701 your thread title is very misleading. Nearly gave me heart failure to think this junk was going to linger on in th Great White North. How revolting.

How so? They could do great episodes set on Andoria (where a lot of the good episodes were set) on the cheap.

And by filming in British Columbia, they can get that pine-fresh sci-fi look that we've come to know from Battlestar Galactica... and SG1... and The X-Files... and Dark Angel... and...

Sci-Fi shows: Now with pine scent.

Mostly it'd be due to economics as to why they film alot of shows/movies out of the country...

Or, in my case, IN the country.

But the film industry is quite prolific in this country. Ever watched Canadian cinema? No, of course you haven't. Most Canadians haven't, either.

Yesterday TrekUnited said Paramount shot down the idea of letting the Candian production go foward. I think Paramount doesn't understand ST other than to let Berman have his way, which ruins the show. Arggghh :]

With all due respect, I am wary of this Trek United organization any more than Paramount, who by the way chose Berman to succeed Roddenberry. Roddenberry didn't hand-pick Rick Berman.

So you're afraid that a fan-run production would be as bad?

Yes, unless I know who is part of the production crew.

Right now, I am enjoying this fourth season run of Enterprise because of Manny Coto and the Reeves-Stevens duo.

The last thing I want is a Starhunter clone. I don't know why but that Canadian-produced TV series irked me.
