Pathfinder 1E Entombed with the Pharaohs by Paizo

Crothian

First Post
Entombed with the Pharaohs is one of the 3.5/OGL modules in the Gamemastery line that Paizo did before switching to the Pathfinder system. I ran it last nuigh t and I think it went very well.

THe module has some great investigation and a auction the PCs have to go to so plenty of good role playing bits and fun to be had before the PCs get to the Pyramid. The Pyramid has plenty of unique encounters and themes. It does not have a lot of rooms or exploration and I liked that. We were able to set up the module easily and then run it in one night though the PCs choose to avoid some of the combats so that sped things up nicely.

One neat thing the module does it is has an evil adventuring group that is exploring the module at the same time. It defines where they go and what they are doing so there is competition in the pyramid. It really gives the module a different feel and makes it different from most other modules.

I haven't run the mod, personally, but it was so much fun to read that it convinced me to subscribe to Paizo's module product line. I haven't been disappointed. Not all are quite as stellar as this one, but most of them are quite good.

Of the ones I have I think this one might be the best. It has a great story, fun and different encounters, and plenty of action. Plus it has a lot of ways the DM gets to be an active part of the adventure and that makes it fun for all! The one down side is it could be tough for some DMs to keep track of what the other group is doing at the same time the PCs are exploring.

For those that have read or run it in the module there is hints of a great evil coming from another planet. Is this something people incorporate into their own games or is stuff like this ignored?
