Environment series back-compatibility

How much are the environment series books (Frostburn and Sandstorm) 3.5-specific?

I am wondering if I should consider buying one or two of this series, but we are still mostly playing with the 3.0 ruleset...

Well, they are 3.5 books.

The monsters might need some adaption (space/face, DR, etc), but apart from that they should work OK. You'd have to be on the lookout for balance issues of course, but then you'd probably be doing that anyway!

Monsters should be fine, because after all what bothers me is what the players will see/use and we might need to change it. Any specific issues with skills/feats/spells and especially environmental rules?
