ENWorld's Fair Postponed

In general, you should be able to get into any event that you want. We're going to let people compete in at least one event of their choice, even if we have to overflow a little. We're only going to limit entries if you want to compete in two or three games, and there are already a lot of people signed up for your secondary event.

So I'd go and register now at CyberCon, to make sure there's not some sort of trouble later if tons of people register at once. You're guaranteed to get into at least one game, especially since you've actually emailed me and have shown great interest.

If, by some fluke, tomorrow afternoon 50 people try to sign up for the joust, we will have to turn some people away. We'd probably be able to edge all the way up to 16, maybe 20 jousters without getting bogged down, but there's no way we'd have the time to handle 50 players in 3 hours. Which is another good reason you should post early.

But please, somebody post a character! :) Having the forum there with no posts makes it seem like a big blank white page, so everyone's going to be nervous.

Stupid . . . um, triple post?

I'm going to bed, hoping the boards stay up. :)

By the way, I can make a character that deals 120 points of damage in one hit in the joust, and he's only 6th level. Hee hee.

Sorry, had to

Are you going to En World Fair?
Contests, Dice, Role Playing, and Wine
Remember me to one who plays there
For once she was a player of mine

Have her make and alternate Ranger
Contests, Dice, Role Playing, and Wine
One that everyone can agree on
And then she’ll be a gamer of mine

Tell her write it on broken machine
Contests, Dice, Role Playing, and Wine
Where words ne’er fall nor balance can happen
And then she’ll be a gamer of mine

Have her find me some dice to roll
Contests, Dice, Role Playing, and Wine
Without no number or edges to land
And then She’ll be a gamer of mine

Gaming imposes impossible tasks
Contests, Dice, Role Playing, and Wine
Though not more then any fan asks
And I must know she’s a gamer of mine

Dear, when thou has finished thy task
Contests, Dice, Role Playing, and Wine
Come to me, and play you may ask
For thou then art a true Gamer of mine

Just so you know, if not enough people post their characters for us to fill up at least a couple events, we'll still run the games, but we probably won't be giving out the full prizes listed in the original rules document. What with the boards being all crazy lately, it wouldn't be fair to cut people out because they weren't able to read the announcement until today. I know I'll still be running the joust and duels, even if the boards crash, but consider this an encouragement to post your characters.

If we only get a handful of submissions (we only have 3 now, and even the race can handle up to 10!), we'll probably reschedule the actual tournament for a time when people will have a lot more foreknowledge, but I'll still run a game or two for the folks who have registered already.

Well, the fair has been postponed. We'll run it fully later, with proper prizes and all, but for tomorrow we'll just run some informal games. There will be no archery or racing or Bahly. I will still run the joust and the duels.

Quick question, would people be willing to move up the times of the events? If I could run the duels at noon and the joust at 3, that'd be much better for my schedule, personally. What do you think about that?

I hate to say it, but I'm kinda glad it's been delayed. I'm sorry for those of you who were all ramped up for it, but between my schedule and the short notice, I didn't have a prayer of getting in on it. With some more notice, I'd love to participate in this, and I was really disappointed that I wasn't going to have the opportunity. Now at least I'll have a fighting chance :D

I feel the same way. I'm sorry it didn't work out for you all this weekend, but I'm sure with a little more advance warning many more people will participate.

Okay, tomorrow I will be in the chat room from noon to 6pm, Central time. Well, actually, I'll probably show up at noon and hang around for only half an hour unless people show up to game. Then, even if people don't show up, I'll come back at 3pm and wait for another half hour.
