That level 30 ability seems supremely disappointing.

I'm also not fond of the +2 to a physical stat and +2 to a mental stat. There's absolutely no balance reason not to let the character take +2 to any two stats.

Wotc seems really intent on trying out as many variations of the demigod destiny as they can until they find one which is "balanced". First the chosen from FR, then archlich, now this... ;)

I think the prophecy wants well-rounded champions.

What makes you say that, exactly? I can see no particular reason why something as enigmatic and incomprehensible as the draconic prophesy would prefer well-rounded heroes.

Luckily, there are reasons to do it that have nothing to do with balance. Balance should not be the reason for every little thing in the game. :D

Perhaps, but in this case I think it's clunky. The wording is inelegant, and it arbitrarily boosts characters who "major" in a physical and a mental stat (e.g. a sorcerer with str and cha) despite there being no flavor reason that this epic destiny should be preferred to such classes.

If just someonw would tell WotC that.

So, no "come back from death" ability? Why that?
Is that an Eberron specific thing? Or does WotC want to prepare the playing field for an epic epic level handbook and tries to remove problematic abilities from EDs?
